The Gatekeepers: Bak Part 1 [Paris Edition]

Back in March I posted a series called, “The Gatekeepers”, which was pretty interesting and personal.  Well, the series has come back and in this episode, Sam Sneed (one half The Gatekeepers), travels to Paris to interview Bak, doorman of the infamous club “Le Baron” in Paris. This was shot by Akshay and directed and edited by Sam Sneed.  Courtesy of Creative Control.

How Would You Like To Spend 5 Days in Dubai?

We'll cross that bridge when we get to it...

I’m really trying to go to Dubai in the next year or so and this is really helping me to put away a little more each pay period. The visuals are amazing…a brotha will get over there and not want to come back.

Maestro Knows Interviews 9th Wonder (Plus, gets a beat for his intro)

Professor 9th's here to school you... The ever-traveling Maestro Knows visits North Carolina to interview one of my favorite producers and co-founders of the group Little Brother.  9th Wonder talks about his production style, tools of the trade, his love for soul music, scoring Maestro’s new season’s music intro and the class he’ll be teaching at Duke University called “Sampling Soul – The study of Soul Music of the 60′s, 70′s & 80′s”.

I’ve been a long time fan of 9th Wonder and his outlooks on music and hip-hop culture as a whole.  One of the truly humble figures in hip-hop and a wealth of information on hip-hop history.  He previously taught at North Carolina A&T State University on the history of hip-hop.  If you’re not familiar with 9th Wonder, you’re familiar with his work.
