The mix of wool, canvas and leather upper gives the impression that the footwear is comfortable and warm; plus the buckled strap at the top makes a nice addition to the already fanciful design. The unveiling and subsequent auction of the Nike MAG was by and large the biggest sneaker event of the year, if not the decade. Working with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Nike sold 1500 pairs of the sneaker over a 10 day period, raising a total of $5,695,190.53!!!

UPDATE: Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, will be matching this number, so in the end over $11,390,381.10 USD will go to charity as a result of this initiative. [via]

Luxury brand Louis Vuitton is releasing their Tibet Ankle Boots for their Winter 2011 shoe collection.  The winter boots are made of Nubuck leather with the Damier print ankle cushion or rabbit fur (sorry P.E.T.A.), with an unzippable upper sleeve.  Price is set at $1110 (I think I bought my first car for that price…)

The new boots fuse fashion and functionality with worker day style with inspiration for the men’s sportswear collection comes from the ‘urban playground’ this season with rich autumn tones such as rusty reds, dusky dark browns and blues. Swizz Beatz and Reebok Classics threw a slamming party at NYC’s Espace for Reethym of Lite, the global campaign fusing music, dance, art and style, head up by Swizz. It was his first-ever event collaboration since taking the reins as Classics Global Curator. 

The night brought out hip-hop heavyweights P Diddy, Pharrell, Clive Davis, Busta Rhymes and Alicia Keys, and apexed with an explosive performance by Swizz featuring Lloyd Banks.
