Leica Portrait Presents: Jonathan Mannion

Photographer Jonathan Mannion has taken pictures of just about anyone that has ever been worthy to photograph: you’ve heard of Jay-Z, LeBron James, Drake, and Lance Armstrong, right? Profiled in the most recent Leica Portrait series, Mannion discusses his work behind the lens, from his first professional experience working on Hova’s “Reasonable Doubt” in ’96 to his place as a staple in the hip-hop community. DJ Quik once boasted that the world “sees hip-hop through his eyes,” a fact that is pretty much impossible to argue against. Mannion’s photographs have chronicled one of the most diverse and interesting movements in music history, a movement with only more incredible images to come. [via]
