It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Hip-Hop’s intellectual comedian and lyrical wordsmith Phonte.  He and DJ Brainchild have graced us with another show, in this episode, Phonte laments the death of one of his favorite record stores, explains the tragedy that is Montana Fishburne, and gives tips on Twitter etiquette.  DJ Brainchild spins an ill mix, too.  Take a listen below.

Apple introduces the latest edition of the iPod Touch.  The two big improvements are the Retina screen and the dual cameras. The screen is the same found in the iPhone 4, which is 960×640, 3.5″, all as expected.

The rear camera does 720p, but only takes pictures at 960×720; the front-facing VGA camera is the same. Steve Jobs went so far as calling the iPod touch the “iPhone without a contract.”

It’s running an A4 processor, and is available with up to 64GB of space. It seems to have all the same internals, including gyro. FaceTime will work between the iPod touch and iPhone, by the way. Hit the jump to see the GB offerings and the cost of each. Read more…

Jesse Boykins III has been on the grind and independent circuit for a few years now and I’ve been a fan his work dating back to 2008.  Well,  lately he’s been on the road touring, making appearances and working in the studio.

During his shows, he’s opened with a cover of Andre 3000′s hit off of Outkast’s diamond selling, The Love Below, called “Prototype”. This song has always been a favorite of mine, but JBIII took this song to a higher level with the help of Melo-X & Trae Harris.  I mean, this sh*t is beautiful…like first night of your honeymoon, beautiful (Am I gonna have to go and kick a puppy to regain my gangsta-ism after making that statement?…nah.)  I guess the buzz of this opening gem in his concerts must have nudged him to record it in a studio session.  Take a listen, you won’t be sorry…
